Pediatric ADD/ ADHD Evaluation & Management in Boca Raton, FL
If you have concerns about your child's behavior, focus, or attention, Rise & Shine Pediatrics is here to help. Dr. Alicia Morrison, MD, FAAP, takes a compassionate, individualized approach to ADHD evaluation and management — working closely with families to understand the full picture and create a plan that supports your child at home, in school, and beyond.
A Comprehensive Approach to ADHD Care
ADHD looks different in every child. At Rise & Shine Pediatrics, we don't take a one-size-fits-all approach. After an initial visit to discuss your concerns, Dr. Morrison uses structured questionnaires and screening forms as needed to gather detailed information about your child's behavior and attention across different settings.
This process includes input from both parents and teachers to ensure a well-rounded understanding of your child's needs — because how a child presents at home and how they present in the classroom often tells two different stories.
Evaluation & Diagnosis
Discussions about behavior and attention can begin at any age. For younger children, a formal ADHD diagnosis is not always necessary — Dr. Morrison takes a thoughtful, developmental approach and will guide you on what evaluation steps make sense for your child's age and presentation.
For older children and teenagers, structured screening tools and multi-source input help ensure an accurate, complete picture before any diagnosis or treatment plan is established.
Ongoing Monitoring & Follow-Up
Children who are stable typically follow up every 3–6 months
More frequent visits may be needed when starting or adjusting treatment
Follow-up visits can be done via telehealth through the Spruce Health app when appropriate
An in-person visit is required at least every 6 months, with virtual check-ins often scheduled around the 3-month mark
Treatment & Management
Once evaluated, Dr. Morrison works with your family to develop a comprehensive care plan that may include:
Medication management — when appropriate, Dr. Morrison can prescribe and monitor ADHD medication, adjusting as needed based on your child's response
Behavioral strategies — practical guidance for parents and caregivers to support focus, behavior, and routine at home
Therapy and ABA services — referrals to licensed therapists or ABA providers when additional support is recommended
School-based accommodations — guidance on requesting evaluations, 504 plans, or IEPs to support your child in the classroom
Managing ADHD is an ongoing process. Dr. Morrison schedules follow-up visits based on each child's individual needs:
